How to make a simple necklace
24 June 2009 by allmarshallgems
This is a simple necklace on waxed cotton cord, using a silver foil heart and a combinations of luster and rainbow small beads.
Cut a length of waxed cotton cord (depending how long you want it to be). String a small bead in the middle then put both ends through the middle of the large heart bead. Thread a couple of beads either side of the heart and finish with a bead at each end tied either side.
If the end of your waxed cotton cord gets wooly, light a candle and dip the end in some hot wax. Some beads are difficult to thread as the hole seems too small, it is usually that there is some glass dust. You can remove this either with a professional bead clearer or a paper clip/pin will do the trick.
Bollywood Necklace

Bollywood Necklace
I thought it was about time I added some examples of jewellery made with AllMarshall Gems beads. This is a Bollywood Necklaces made with Bollywood Beads, Cotton Beads, Hollow Metal Beads, Silver Foil and some other glass beads. They are easy to make and look fab day or evening (I have a few in different colours). You can either put them on some cotton cord or any other leather, ribbon, etc. Choose the beads you want to use and tie knots either side of the bead, you may need to put smaller beads either side to avoid the knot sliding through. To finish of the ends push the cord through from either side of a beads (needs to have a big enough hole) tie a knot and pull it back on itself. Make sure the cord is long enough to go over your head.
